Most people either love a good thunderstorm or hate them! Either way, we want you to be safe!

  • A thunderstorm warning means that a thunderstorm is happening in your area. At this time, you should be inside with any doors or windows closed. If you are outside, you should try to move indoors as quickly as possible.
  • Even if there is no rain, if you hear thunder or see lightning you should immediately move inside. If getting into a building is not possible, stay in your car and keep the windows and doors closed.
  • Stay away from trees during a thunderstorm.
  • Do not swim during a thunderstorm.
  • Do not touch metal.
  • Do not use a telephone with a cord.

Thunder and lightning can be very dangerous, follow these tips to ensure you stay safe.
